Are you looking for a list of Blue Apron alternatives? Since I moved to NYC, I’ve been changing up my routine and trying lots of different meal delivery services that I found from boxedmealz.com. There are tons of Blue Apron competitors, but I’ve listed five of my favorites below. If you’re looking for a service at about the same price point per meal as Blue Apron, check out Hello Fresh and Plated. If you don’t mind paying a bit more, look into Plated, PeachDish, and Sun Basket instead. All of the services listed below offer a vegetarian version just like Blue Apron. Here’s a summary:
Though similar to Blue Apron, HelloFresh got its start in Germany but quickly expanded throughout Europe, Australia, and parts of North America. Hello Fresh offers three different meal plans – the Classic, the Veggie, and the Family-friendly and is priced the same as its American counterpart. Here’s a brief rundown of the Hello Fresh Plan:
Classmates of Blue Apron founder Matt Salzberg came up with the idea for Plated as busy Harvard graduate students. The idea was that people crave healthy food, but don’t have time for grocery shopping or meal prep. After successfully launching the company, founders Nick Taranto and Josh Hix pitched Plated on Shark Tank. Though an initial deal with Mark Cuban fell through, rival shark Kevin later swooped in and made an investment. Today, Plated is slated to make almost $100 million in sales in 2017. This meal delivery service is one of my favorites because all the meals are fast and simple to prep. Here’s some additional info:
Though pricier than some of the other meal kits on the market, Green Chef is committed to sourcing solely organic, non-GMO ingredients. I especially love the service because the portions are hearty, it caters to more dietary restrictions than most services.
PeachDish is a fun and southern alternative to Blue Apron, so this is my go-to when I’m craving the cuisine of my youth. I used PeachDish when we hosted a dinner party last week, and it was such a life saver! We had five couples over from our church, so I just ordered the 12 servings of the Wild Alaskan Cod and the flourless chocolate cake. The cooking part was easy, but finding a place for everyone to sit in our small apartment was quite the challenge. Here’s what you can expect with PeachDish:
Last, but certainly not least, Sun Basket meal delivery offers recipes crafted with organic and non-GMO ingredients sourced from American farms and ranches. You can choose from vegetarian, gluten-free, and paleo options or even toss in breakfast entrees or family-friendly meals. My favorite part is that all meals are designed to be cooked in under 30 minutes, which makes a huge difference after a long day at work. Here’s the scoop:
